We rarely have pedigree breeds, but our doggies do come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Although some specific pedigree dogs do exist in Macedonia, they have been imported and are generally well cared for and crucially if they do escape and have the chance to mate, it is unlikely to be with their own breed.
With that in mind the vast majority of our dogs we lovingly refer to as Macedonian 57 (mixed breed). With puppies we sometimes have the luxury of knowing one or both of the parents and will of course discuss with any prospective adopter, the likely size and weight when fully grown.
One advantage of predominantly mixed breeds is that they naturally have a more diverse gene pool. This generally leads to more robust doggies without the breed specific ailments associated with pedigrees.
Ultimately we are looking for loving homes for our furry friends, with people who fall in love with their chosen doggy, and do not care about their parentage.
Please check back if you do not see your perfect forever furry friend, as we regularly rescue new doggies, who are all looking for that perfect home, and that might just be your home.
If none of our current shelter residents takes your fancy but you genuinely would love to give a rescue dog a home, you can register your interest so that we can keep you up to date with any new arrivals and those at our vets who Izzy thinks might be the doggy for you.
When we rescue a new dog they are never taken directly to our "Doggy Barn", as this would risk all our other doggies. They are taken straight to our vets and given a thorough examination and tested for any diseases. If they require any treatment this is begun immediately. They are vaccinated as required and treated for worms and ticks. If they are not microchipped then our vet will also register, microchip them and issues their Pet Passport. The passport is also their official document for all vaccinations etc.
If they are puppies they are kept at the vets until they have had their second vaccination so that we know 100% they cannot pass on any diseases. Only then can they come to our "Doggy Barn", and only then do we advertise them as available.
Please also note that some dogs who are reserved may, for a variety of reasons become available again.

His sisters and one brother are already adopted and home but sadly RAPLH hasn't been that lucky, and we don't know why 😔
RALPH is utterly gorgeous, such a lovely little happy chap who loves everyone, other dogs, cats, people and children 🐾 He's playful and just wants to have fun 🐕
He isn't housetrained, and needs some lead work but he's a smart boy and with love, time and patience he soon will be soon 🐾

This is our gorgeous Sun New Hope Dog girlie LILY, who she was sadly given up by her owners and to stop her ending up on the streets of North Macedonia to fend for herself and almost certainly be attacked by other dogs or people 😡 we took her 🐾🐾
She is very well behaved, walks well on a lead and was fully housetrained, but because she's been in our doggie barn for almost 6 months 😔 she'll need a little reminder but her training will come back very quickly and we don't anticipate any problems 👍🐕
She would make a great friend for another resident doggie, or be absolutely fine as a sole doggie ❤️🐾
She's a little softie, with a lovely gentle nature, loves people, good with children, adores cuddles and is great with other dogs and cats 🐈 🐕
She would love a family that enjoy being outdoors having fun, like most doggies do 😃 🐕🦮❤️

This is our very handsome Sun New Hope boy, BLIZZ and he's looking for a forever home 🙏🏡
BLIZZ was found by Natasa when he was a pup, along with 6 others in a remote area where people secretly throw away dogs they don't want and just drive away without a backward glance 😔
Fortunately BLIZZ and all the other pups were healthy, with no diseases or injuries, just malnourished and frightened.
So poor BLIZZ has never had a snuggy home, but we're hoping we can find him one because he's very gentle, very well behaved and extremely cuddly ❤️
He isn't housetrained, and will need lead work but we don't believe that will be a problem as he's a good boy and with with love, time and patience be ok 🐾
He's happy, he gets on and plays with all our dogs in the Doggie barn 🐾

Along with his sister, he was dumped, in an isolated area of waste ground in North Macedonia 💔 and would have definitely died from hunger and exposure had they not been found by our rescuer Natasa.
PIPER is a lovely happy boy, who enjoys playing with all our dogs, and is extremely good natured ❤️
He isn't lead trained or housetrained, but we know that with time, patience and love it won't take every much training to get him sorted 👍

A more adorable lovely natured dog you would never meet, calm and gentle and we've never heard her bark 👍
She was sadly thrown out on to the streets because she wasn't good as a hunting dog, too small, no prey drive, to be honest she was actually very fortunate not to have been killed for being in her owners eyes 'useless' as a working dog 😔
JASNA is our resident 'baby sitter' at our doggie barn because' ALL our young pups go in the kennel with her and she keeps them company, let's them play and sleep with her, so they don't feel lonely or afraid ❤️
She loves everyone, people, children, dogs and cats👍
Walks well on her lead, understands commands, will just need a little reminder re housetraining but that's not hard 👍
We believe JASNA has never found her forever home because she's overlooked for being older and maybe no-one wants an older dog 😔 which is so sad because every dog, no matter their age deserves a loving home ❤️ or maybe it's because people worry because her breed, again that's nothing to worry about as this lovely girlie doesn't display any hunting characteristics whatsoever 👍
She's 100% fit and healthy, and we have no concerns about her health 🐾

He is a lovely boy, who just wants his own home and family again after being given up because his old family could no longer afford to keep him, and decided the best thing would be for him to be pts 💔 obviously we weren't going to let that happen, so we took him and he's at our doggie barn in North Macedonia 🐾🐾
He is happy, well behaved, lovely natured and just a little shy, bless him❤️
He is great with all our dogs in the Barn and for adoption, he would be very happy living alone or with another gentle resident dog, who could boost his confidence and remind him what having a happy home is like 🏡
He loves people and children, and will quickly learn to trust and love everyone 👍
His breed is mixed, which we loving call 'Macedonian 57' ❤️
He might look like but he isn't a collie, that breed doesn't exist in North Macedonia.
We can speculate...the grey speckles on his leg, might mean that he has a little Bucovina Shepherd in his doggie lineage 🤔 but we don't know for sure, just surmising!! But whatever his mix, he's absolutely gorgeous ❤️❤️

LUNA is an older lady, who sadly spent most of her life on a 1 metre chain and fed on only bread 💔
We rescued her and have made sure she's safe, well fed and healthy 🐾 and not attached to a chain!
She is such a sweet, peaceful gentle lady, who is very well behaved and extremely cuddly ❤️ but she's will be a little shy, and unsure at first, so would suit a quiet home but be an amazing companion 🐶
She will need a housetraining reminder, and will be ok having little walks on a lead. She doesn't need much, bless her a warm snuggy bed, for afternoon naps and someone to love her❤️
She does like people including children, but will take a little while to come out of her shell and say hello, but she's not aggressive at all.
She really doesn't know how to play and toys are a bit of a mystery to her but she contents herself with just watching and getting to know you, and will then happily follow you around ❤️

This is our amazingly, brave and resilient Sun New Hope Dog TOM who would love a forever home of his own 🐾
Our rescuer, Natasa found TOM, by the roadside hardly able to move, screaming in pain which initially made her think he'd been hit by a car 💔 but after getting him to our vet, we found out that he had been shot with an air pellet gun, numerous times and he was very lucky to be alive.
We didn't know of he would survive after the vet operated on him to remove the pellets, but he did 😁
However, one pellet was lodged in his spine, and after numerous X-rays and discussions, with very experienced vets, they have all said it's not safe to remove it 😔 Trying would probably completely paralysed from half way down his back or worse, he could die, so every one has decided it's best left where it is. No-one, believes it will move as it's firmly lodged in place.
The vets in North Macedonia are very highly qualified and treat animals with the most atrocious injuries on a daily basis, so this diagnosis for TOM isn't based on a lack the expertise or unwillingness to try, it's based on the likelihood of success, which for TOM isn't very high 💔
TOM makes an impression on everyone he meets, our vets think TOM is amazing, especially after he's learnt to walk again, no help, he just picked himself up and did it all by himself and he worked out how to sit and lie down perfectly 😁
I'm sure you may wonder, and yes, he goes out for a wee and a pooh when you open the door, so there's nothing wrong with him in that respect 😁
People have been so very cruel to TOM, almost killing him but he still remains very friendly around people, loves children and really loves cuddles, and he's very happy going out for a ride in the car ❤️ and that's the human daily interaction and company he really needs and misses so much 😔
He's very friendly around other doggies and still wants to play, and ours at the doggie barn seem to know he's special, so they are kind to him 🐕❤️🐕 What we'd like is to find a family that would be prepared to look after him, to love him and to be happy with a gorgeous friendly doggie, that has adapted extremely well to an act of extreme cruelty that would have most likely killed a lesser doggie 🐾
He is a Macedonian 57 breed, meaning we really don't know🐾
He was born February 2021🐾
He is FULLY grown, medium sized weighing 15kg🐾
He's strong and can get around by himself 🐾

Sadly along with other rescues, we notice that finding a forever home for a black dog is almost impossible, people just scroll by, which is so very sad 💔 because she's beautiful in real life, just pictures can never do her justice.
Natasa rescued COCO from a remote village where she had been thrown out like rubbish and fed only on scraps 😔
COCO is a lovely girl, who loves to plays with all our other dogs in the Doggie barn but definitely prefers people 🐾 so ideally she'd love a home where she was the only dog and there are no cats 🐾
She is a very nice girl, who is well behaved and if you are looking for a small companion dog, COCO is ideal for you ❤️

This is our gorgeous little Sun New Hope Dog girlie PHOEBE who would love a forever home 🐾
PHOEBE had a home once, but sadly because she was born with a deformed front leg her original owner decided because they couldn't afford the operation to remove it, they were going to put her to sleep 😔 so we took her👍
After consultation with our vet, we fundraised the money for her amputation to be done and bless her she was quickly back on her paws, happy and healthy ❤️
If you are wondering how she will be in the future, we don't anticipate any problems whatsoever, as long as she gets regular exercise and doesn't gain excess weight 👍
PHOEBE is a very sweet good natured, little girlie who loves being with all our other dogs and happily runs around just like all the others.
She would be happy either as a sole doggie or be a new friend to a resident doggie 🐶❤️🐶 and was lead trained and housetrained, but will need a little reminder but it'll all come back to her 😁
She loves people and children, and would love a loving family ❤️ and we hope someone will offer one 🤞

This is our absolutely gorgeous Sun New Hope girlie; ENYA and she would really love a forever home 🙏🏡
ENYA was found by Natasa when she was a pup, along with 6 others, including Blizz in a remote area where people secretly throw away dogs they don't want and just drive away without a backward glance 😔
Fortunately ENYA and all the other pups were healthy, with no diseases or injuries, just malnourished and frightened.
Our poor girl ENYA has never had a snuggy home, but we're hoping we can get her one because she's very beautiful, gentle, very well behaved and extremely cuddly ❤️
She isn't housetrained, and will need lead work but we don't believe that will be a problem as she's a quick learner and with with love, time and patience will be ok 🐾
ENYA is a calm girl that gets on with all our dogs and plays with all of them, big or small, never a problem at all 🐾

He would be great as a sole dog or with another slightly more dominant one, just to remind him that people are for sharing 👍
He isn't dominant at all, he plays happily with all our other dogs, but would prefer to be around his human, whatever his human is doing ❤️

This is our gorgeous Sun New Hope Dog girlie LANA and she really would love a forever home of her own 🐾
LANA is a very special girl, who was rescued from the streets along with her two darling pups, who have both long since found wonderful forever homes ❤️
LANA was very shy and nervous, but never aggressive 👍
However we believe the reason for her nervousness was that whilst she was on the streets, looking after her pups, she was treated very harshly by men, especially men with grey hair 😔so she does still find them a little scary, until she gets used to them.
Natasa has worked very hard with her and she's now ready to find her very own home. She will still require reassuring to get her more confident but we know that if her new family understand and give her lots time, and don't rush things she'll be awesome 🐾
She is a sweet girlie, who when you see her, grins at you...just showing her little teeth BUT it's not aggression, it's her way of saying hello ❤️ and actually one of her pups does it as well 😁

Along with her sister, she was dumped, in an isolated area of waste ground in North Macedonia 💔 and would have definitely died from hunger and exposure had they not been found by our rescuer Natasa.
AMBER is a lovely happy girl, who enjoys playing with all our doggies, but particularly fond of Lily (see photo) and you can see just how small she is 😁

We often have puppies, who are looked after by our vets until they have had all their tests and vaccinations and are then safe to introduce to our other doggies in the Doggy Barn. Obviously for puppies this is generally 3 months after we have rescued them, once they have received their second vaccination.
The doggies advertised here on the website are fully fit and healthy and are being cared for by Natasa in our Doggy Barn.
Please if you do not see your perfect new forever friend on this page do not lose hope, Natasa is always rescuing new doggies and puppies.
